200th Anniversary of Peggy’s Cove
This is a big year in The Peggy’s Cove Area as we are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Village of Peggy’s Cove.
We will be celebrating all summer and invite you to join in at any time. We have a host of great events that the whole family will enjoy. You can keep up with the activities at the official website www.peggyscove.org
Aprils events include:
- April 1-3, Official Launch: April 1, Press Conference; April 2, Pub Night at The Sou’Wester with The Saunders Brothers; April 3, Opening Ceremonies
- April 17: “Celebrate Our Coastline!” SMB Stewardship Association’s annual
Bay Clean-Upbegins in the Peggy’s Cove area, 10:00-noon (meet at The Whalesback in Indian Harbour). Clean-ups will be held on islands or shoreline sites around the Bay every third Sunday through October. Everyone is welcome to lend a hand to help protect our coastal environment. - April 18: “Celebrate Our Geology!” a guided interpretive walk, 1:30-3:30 p.m., led by Garth Demont, Geologist, NS Department of Natural Resources. Tours depart from the VIC every third Monday monthly, April through October (rain date the following day).
